This page provides list of new features available in VLPropertyList 2.0
- Recordset browsing support
VLPropertyList can now be used as a recordset browser with a single line
of code. You will be able to browse and modify records from an ADO recordset
in easiest possible manner.
- Object property drilldown
The new version will support drilling into the properties of COM object properties
that are objects themselves. For example, Font property of a command button is an object
of type StdFont, having properties of its own. VLPropertyList can now show properties
of Font object as child properties of Font property.
- Enhanced data validation
You can now specifiy valid range for numeric and date type data, The corresponding
data editors will automatically enforce the range validation.
- Enhanced Keyboard Support
Keyboard support is enhanced based on actual user feedback. Now you can also specify
keyboard mnemonics for switching between alphabic and categorised views. Also, you
can jump to a property by simply pressing the key corresponding to the first character
of the property name.
- Mouse wheel support
Now you can scroll up and down in the property list using scroll wheel of your mouse.
No more searching for cursor keys!
- Additional grid line styles
New version offers a more grid line styles, adding to your choice of looks of the
VLPropertyList.
- Readonly attribute for property object
A property can now be marked as read only, so that the user cannot edit it at runtime.
Also, you can specify the text color to be used for rendering a read only property.
- Visible attribute for property object
A property can now be marked as invisible. This feature is very useful when VLPropertyList is
used for record browsing and you want to hide primary keys and identify field etc.
- Bug Fixes
This version includes bug fixes and all the minor enhancements made through intermediate releases
over VLPropertyList Ver 1.0.
